The chapter has access to Spoke, a piece of software that allows the sending of mass texts to lists of phone numbers. Access to Spoke is available to all working groups and caucuses upon request, pending approval as per our Mass Communications Policy. Please provide us some details on the request you are making and provide a short justification for the use of this tool. Texters need to make a MDC DSA Spoke account before they’re able to start texting. What should we title your campaign? Keep this short (4 - 6 words).
What is the purpose of your campaign?
Give us some information about why specifically you are requesting a mass text rather than other comms options.
Which chapter formation are you putting this request in on behalf of?
"I have reviewed the chapter Mass Communications Policy and am empowered by my branch/working group to make this request on their behalf."
What should the initial text message say? Include [TXTERNAME] if you want the texter's name filled in automatically. MUST BE 160 CHARACTERS OR LESS https://charactercounttool.com/
What cross-section of the list would you like your text to target? For example, "all current members", or "all current members living in Ward 9 who have expressed an interest in housing justice", or "everyone who attended the Electoral Working Group meeting on August 10th", etc. The more specific you get the more likely we will be able to approve your request without delay.
Spoke requires people manually send the initial text and any pre-configured follow-up texts to the list of targets. You will need a team in place in order to send the texts out once your request is processed and set up. List the names and email addresses of the people who will be helping to send texts.
First day you need to be able to text. If sooner than 1 week (7 days), please contact Spoke Team directly upon submission of this ticket.
If this is for turnout to an event, please give the date of the event you are doing outreach for.
Is this an urgent request? Urgent means you need to start texting in less than 48 hours. If yes, please contact Spoke Team immediately upon submission of this ticket.
